QC Team Leader 

Are you a manager who is excited about learning new scientific skills? This opportunity would enable you to line manage a small QC team, whilst gaining training in specialist enzyme assays.

You would be working within a biotechnology company who were the winner of the Queen’s Award for Innovation and are currently expanding their operations, given the continued success of the business over the past 10 years. This is a varied QC supervision role. With oversight of the QC department and a small team of analysts, this a unique opportunity for someone who wants to build on their previous experience and progress within a fast-paced commercial setting.

Summary of duties:

• Team leader responsibilities – complete line management of QC Technicians
• Manage all QC testing (internal and external) to meet product release timescales
• Carry out enzyme assays (validation, analysis, interpretation, trouble shooting); the role will be mostly office based, with some laboratory tasks
• Be responsible for QC documentation in the QMS and lab auditing

Experience:

• Life science degree or equivalent
• Previous experience line managing staff in a lab is essential! (At least 6 months+ experience)
• You could come from any regulated laboratory (food, pharma, biotech, chemical)
• Any experience or knowledge of enzyme analysis would be great, but this can be trained!
• Experience with any chromatography techniques, especially GC is an advantage
• Any experience in GMP/ GLP would be advantageous
